When your child becomes injured or very ill, you want to have a reliable, efficient pediatric medical team at your disposal. At Sunrise Children’s Hospital, we strive to bring you just that. Our pediatric and neonatal units are both staffed by some of the brightest medical talent, equipped with the most advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities, and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to serve your family when you need it most.
The pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) is always prepared to promptly evaluate, diagnose, and treat any child that may need urgent medical care due to poisoning, drug overdose, trauma, or any other cause. Utilizing advanced medical technology, our pediatric specialists strive to promote quick healing while minimizing pain. Sunrise Children’s Hospital is also the only unit in the state of Nevada to offer the extra corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technique to mimic natural heart and lung function. When a child is suffering from respiratory or cardiac failure, this technique allows them to rest while the organs undergo the natural healing process.
The NICU at Sunrise Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 72-bed unit dedicated to the expert treatment of critically ill infants and premature newborns. Our board-certified neonatologists and specially-trained medical support staff work around the clock to provide the highest quality of care and support to infants and their families. Some of the main services offered by our NICU include:
